Repeat Prescriptions

Ordering a Repeat Prescription

Please note, we cannot process any repeat prescription requests over the phone.

  • The easiest way to get a repeat prescription is through the NHS App.
  • You can also request via SystmOnline.
  • If you cannot use either of these methods, then please hand in your repeat prescription slip at the dispensary.

We will process your repeat prescription request and send it to your chosen pharmacy within 3 working days (excluding weekends and bank holidays).

Sometimes we may not be able to issue your prescription straight away, for example, if:

  • you are due a medication review,
  • your medicine is not on repeat, or
  • you need important monitoring (such as blood tests, blood pressure checks, or an ECG).

If this happens, we will contact you within 3 working days to let you know what action you need to take.

Once your prescription has been approved by us, please allow extra time for your pharmacy or dispensary to prepare your medication.

To help avoid delays:

  • Please request your medication one week before you will need it.
  • Make sure to respond promptly to any letters or text messages asking you to book monitoring appointments for your medication review.

Ordering with the NHS App

If you have an NHS Account, you can log in to your NHS Account to order your repeat prescription through the NHS App or NHS website. If you don’t have an NHS Account, visit the official NHS App webpage to learn how to set up an NHS Account.

In Person

You can drop off your repeat prescription slip in the collection box at the dispensary.  When the surgery is closed there is also a letterbox on the right-hand side of the building.

Sedative prescribing for fear of flying

Sedatives are not recommended for fear of flying. The reasons for this can be understood in our policy.

The Surgery Dispensary

Our surgery dispensary is only available to patients who live outside of Oundle, Ashton and Elmington. These patients may pick up their medicines from the dispensary between 8.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 6pm weekdays.

Village Deliveries

If you live in Elton, Warmington, Barnwell or Aldwincle then you can request our medication delivery service, which delivers medication to community points such as shops and post offices. If you wish to have your prescription delivered then please ask when ordering.

Medication Reviews

If you are on regular medication you will need an annual medication review, so we will contact you to arrange this around your birthday month.
