Doppler machine purchased thanks to Oundle and District Care
Many thanks to Oundle and District Care, whose generous donation has funded a Doppler machine for Lakeside Oundle’s surgery.
GP, Dr Kathryn Newell said: ‘The machine measures blood flow in the legs which, otherwise, can be quite difficult to determine. It can be used to diagnose arterial disease and the best form of treatment to use for patients with leg ulcers. It will also reduce appointment times for patients and means that one member of staff can carry out assessments, rather than the two that are needed without this equipment.'
Lakeside Oundle’s Practice Manager, Mrs Carol Beesley, said: ‘We are very grateful to Oundle and District Care for their kind donation of £2,000. This is one of several that they have made over the years, which have been used to purchase medical equipment. Their generosity is hugely appreciated and the machine will benefit the community for years to come.’
Catherine Goldsmith from Oundle and District Care said: ‘To enable the Surgery to buy a piece of equipment that will serve that local community is a perfect use of our funds. These come mainly in the form of donations from members of the local community, some of whom will benefit from this new machine. As well as making donations to local charitable organisations we also maintain equipment such as wheelchairs, shower chairs and similar items which we loan out free of charge to people requiring them’
