Following feedback from patients and staff, we are pleased to inform you that our new telephone system will be installed this weekend and will be live from MONDAY 22 MAY  2017.

This will address the issues you have made us aware of, and as always we appreciate your feedback.  The new system will have options for:

  • Booking appointments, requesting home visits and general enquiries
  • Cancelling appointments
  • Test results (between 2pm and 5pm Monday to Friday)

The new system will provide call recording facilities as well as allowing callers to hear their position in the queue.

All existing phone numbers for the practice (appointments, enquiries, prescriptions) will still work, but from Monday 22 May will redirect callers to the appropriate part of the phone system. We would ask that people start to use 01832 273408 as the main number for the practice in the future.

SMS Reminders

20/04/2017

by

In: Patient Feedback

We have recently started to use a new SMS provider to send SMS reminders. You will see that you are able to respond to SMS messages to cancel appointments and provide feedback for our NHS Friends and Family Test.

As with any new system, we have experienced a few hiccups where the system does NOT send an instant “confirmation of appointment” text. Instead, these are sent ONE WEEK before your appointment. Any appointments you book within a week are not affected. If you are booking an appointment over a week in advance and require an instant text, please let one of our receptionists know, and they can manually send an SMS confirmation. Please know that by doing this you will receive multiple reminder SMS messages.

We value your feedback and have requested that our new provider change this so that confirmation messages are sent on the same day. We appreciate your patience until this is fixed.

GP Earnings

31/03/2017

by

In: Surgery News

All GP Practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.
The average pay for GPs working at Oundle Surgery for the 2015/16 financial year was £33,614 before tax and National Insurance.  This is for 4 full time and 5 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.
NHS England require that the net earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised, and the required disclosure is shown above.  However, it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.
